Village on the Cannon (VOC)
301 7th Street West, Northfield
Community Room
Building access. VOC is a secure building, which means the front door is closed and locked at all times. Your instructor will let you in for the first class, then arrange for a greeter from among students in her or his class to open the door for class members on subsequent class days. Highly organized instructors might make this arrangement by email ahead of the first class. At no time can the front door be propped open unattended. The greeter should arrive approximately 15 minutes before class is scheduled to begin and meet the instructor at the door to gain entry.
Parking. VOC requires that all instructors and students, except those with a handicap permit, park in the on-street parking (on 7th Street) that is available across the street from the VOC entrance, not in the spaces on VOC property directly in front of the entrance.
COVID safety. CVEC instructors and students will notify the Executive Director or Curriculum Director if they have tested positive for COVID or were exposed to someone who tested positive and should not return to VOC for CVEC classes until they complete the appropriate CDC-recommended quarantine and have had a negative COVID test. CVEC will notify VOC leadership when either a positive test or exposure has been reported.
Coffee and water. Students and instructors may bring their own coffee and/or water with them if they wish. Paper cups and filtered water are available in the room. Rest rooms are located in the hall. Residents prefer that people attending CVEC classes not wander around the building before or after class or while on breaks.
